Gobeklitepe —- Foxes of Enclosure B — T Pillar 9 — T Pillar 10 — <—Terrazzo—> — <—Graffito — TriciVenola 2023 — Why so many foxes? One theory is that they refer to the Comet, which hit the earth 12,000 years ago at the end of the Ice Age, causing the Younger Dryas, or Little Ice Age.

Most of Gobeklitepe was buried after that long, each successive stone enclosure lasting a millennium. It’s why they’re so well preserved. — A portal stone was an entrance, to where is still unknown. An ancient Indian Buddhist tradition: as one nears a transformative spiritual experience, the closer one gets, the fiercer become the doubts and fears. These are “The lions the guard the gate.” And here they are, long before Buddhism. A lion, a ram, an auroch, and a serpent.
